Children¡XPaxil has not be shown to be safe and effective in children or adolescents, 18 years of age or younger. Children may be especially sensitive to the effects of Paxil for the treatment of depr
ssion. This may increase the chance of a child planning to commit suicide or attempting to commit suicide. Talk to your doctor about the risks and benefits of taking this medication.

Cautions
Before taking Paxil, remember that alcohol can add to the drowsiness caused by this drug. tell your doctor if you use tobacco products. Cigarette smoking may decrease the effectiveness o
f this drug. plan to avoid unnecessary or prolonged exposure to sunlight and to wear protective clothing, sunglasses, and sunscreen. Paxil may make your skin sensitive to sunlight.

Special Wanring
Adverse Events Leading to Discontinuation of Treatment: - 16% (656/4126) of patients who received paroxetine in worldwide clinical trials discontinued treatment due to an adverse experience. The most
common events (reported by at least 1% of subjects) associated with discontinuation included: asthenia, headache, nausea, somnolence, insomnia and abnormal ejaculation. All other events associated wit
h discontinuation occurred at rates of 1% or less.

What Is It
Paxil relieves a variety of emotional problems. It can be prescribed for serious, continuing depression that interferes with your ability to function. Symptoms of this type of depression often include
changes in appetite and sleep patterns, a persistent low mood, loss of interest in people and activities, decreased sex drive, feelings of guilt or worthlessness, suicidal thoughts, difficulty concen

Significant Interactions:
Geriatrics: - Administration of paroxetine to the elderly is associated with increased plasma levels and prolongation of the elimination half-life relative to younger adults (see Pharmacology, Pharmac
okinetics). Elderly patients should be initiated and maintained at the lowest daily dose of paroxetine which is associated with clinical efficacy.
