What is this medicine
Allegra-D is an antihistamine and decongestant combination used to relieve congestion, sneezing, and watery eyes due to colds, flu, or hay fever. Allegra-D works against the naturally occurring chemic
al histamine in the body. Fexofenadine prevents sneezing; runny nose; itching, watery eyes; and other allergic symptoms. ?Pseudoephedrine is a decongestant. It constricts (shrinks) blood vessels (vein
s and arteries). By decreasing blood flow, it decreases congestion. Allegra ( Fexofenadine and pseudoephedrine ) is used to relieve symptoms of allergic conditions.

Overdosage
Clumsiness or unsteadiness; convulsions (seizures); drowsiness (severe); dryness of mouth, nose, or throat (severe); feeling faint; flushing or redness of face; hallucinations (seeing, hearing,

Drug Interactions
Check with your doctor before combining Allegra with erythromycin (E.E.S., Ery-Tab, PCE) or ketoconazole (Nizoral). These drugs may increase Allegra's effects.
Allegra-D should never be take
n within 2 weeks of using an MAO-inhibitor drug such as the antidepressants Marplan, Nardil, and Parnate. Also check with your doctor before combining it with the following:
- Mecamylamine (
Inversine)
- Methyldopa (Aldomet)
- Reserpine (Diupress, Hydropres)

Possible Side Effect

Before you have any skin tests for allergies, tell the doctor in charge that you are taking Allegra-D. The results of the test may be affected by Allegra-D.
When taking antihistamines on a re
gular basis, make sure your doctor knows if you are taking large amounts of aspirin at the same time (as for arthritis or rheumatism). Effects of too much aspirin, such as ringing in the ears, may be
covered up by the antihistamine.
- Antihistamines will add to the effects of alcohol and other CNS depressants (medicines that slow down the nervous system, possibly causing drowsiness).

How to Use
Follow the directions for using this medicine provided by your doctor. SWALLOW WHOLE. Do not break, crush, or chew before swallowing. Do not take this medicine with food. Do not take antacids containi
ng aluminum and magnesium within 2 hours of taking this medicine. STORE THIS MEDICINE at room temperature between 68 and 77 degrees F (20 and 25 degrees C) in a tightly-closed container. IF YOU MISS A
DOSE OF THIS MEDICINE and you are taking it regularly, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do NOT t
ake 2 doses at once.
